Special teams was the story in last nights’ meeting between the Express and Eagles. Consistency down the stretch for the Express is vital. As it stands now, the Express are in good shape with three games in hand on both clubs, but that can be erased very quicly. The Express, Kings, and Cowichan Valley Capitals are in a three-way battle to lock down the final two playoff spots in the conference. With just 14 games remaining in the 2021-22 season, every game has increasingly elevated stakes. This victory marked the Express’ second consecutive win as they leapfrogged the Powell River Kings for the #7 spot in the Coastal Conference. Last night, the Express toppled the Eagles 6-4 in front of a very energetic crowd at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre.
